Cities will have to be densified with people in high-rise blocks. Otherwise there will not be the farmland to feed the masses. Personal transport will have to be abolished. Fusion will have to work unless renewables can do it all. However, fusion is nowhere near the horizon. Renewables may not be the cure all. There is no desire for densification. Nothing does all that oil does and it's on the way out. And yes, there are too many people because oil permitted such an increase. I see a world like Blade Runner or Soylent Green not Star Trek. Maybe youth will get used to live like a battery hen. They have gotten used to multi-tasking by watching two TVs, texting and e-mailing all at the same time.
